Project Description: The construction of the 32,500 sq m exhibition hall at Da Nang International Airport focuses on a large-span steel truss structure. First, the airport site’s dedicated foundation treatment (cast piles + pile caps) was completed to ensure the load-bearing stability of the large-span structure. The main steel truss was precisely prefabricated in the factory and then hoisted and assembled in sections using large lifting equipment, with temporary supports simultaneously deployed to stabilize the truss system. The roof uses a combination of steel structure and translucent panels (to meet the exhibition hall’s lighting requirements). The exterior facade integrates with the airport’s architectural style to complete the enclosure structure construction. During construction, electromechanical pipelines for the exhibition were pre-embedded. The entire process adhered to Vietnamese airport building wind resistance and load-bearing specifications, and BIM technology was used to control the installation accuracy of the irregularly shaped steel structure.
