Project Description: The Willapa Mountain State Park Trail is one of five long-distance routes managed by the Washington State Park Service. It is a key trans-state route, starting at the Idaho border and ending at the Willapa Bay coastline. This relatively flat, 56-mile-long route represents a section of the western part of the system. Originally acquired by the State Park Service from Burlington Northern Railroad in 1993, the route runs east-west, connecting Chehallas and South Bend, where it intersects with U.S. Route 101.
